One killed, another hurt in scooter, motorcycle accidents

BOISE - A local scooter driver was killed Sunday night.

Officials say at about 10:30 p.m. Paul Bruce, 41, of Boise was driving a scooter when he was hit by another vehicle on Federal Way near the IHOP restaurant. Police say the driver didn't see Bruce on the scooter.

Bruce was taken to St. Als and died several hours later due to blunt force trauma, according to the Ada County Coroner's office. Bruce was wearing a helmet.

Also on Sunday, police say a motorcyclist is recovering after being hit by an SUV in Boise. Officials say at about 11:45 p.m. Sunday a motorcyclist was hit and then became trapped under the vehicle and police had to lift up the car to get him out.

Police say he was sent to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
