LEWISTON (AP) - A northern Idaho woman with a fitting name won first place on Saturday as the Nez Perce County Fair held a hog-calling contest.
Jolee Bacon took first place in the adult category of the competition. Bacon has raised several champion pigs for 4-H contests. Bacon is from Lapwai, Idaho and says that she calls pigs every morning and night with her 9-year-old daughter, Jacey. During the competition, Bacon won the crown over as she started her hog call with a few loud snorts and a long, drawn-out "sooey." University of Idaho student Michelle Agee helped judge the competition and says she looked for someone who was "really creative and entertaining to the crowd." |
