Police: Teen girls riding on hood hurt in crash
By KVAL.com staffKEIZER, Ore. -- Two teenage girls riding on the hood of a pickup truck in a grocery store parking lot were injured when the truck crashed into a light pole, throwing the girls several feet onto the asphalt, according to police in Keizer, Ore. Ashley Hudson, 18, and a 14-year-old girl not identified by police were taken by ambulance to Salem Hospital for treatment. Police said the extent of their injuries was not known but that they were not life-threatening. Investigators believe Hudson and the girl were riding on the hood of a 1996 Ford Ranger pickup driven by Marisela Parocua, 19, of Keizer, Ore., when the truck hit a light pole in the parking lot. The collision caused the truck to come to an immediate stop, tossing the two girls several feet from the truck and onto the pavement, according to police. Parocua was not injured. No criminal charges have been filed. Officers are still completing their investigation.
