CALDWELL - A middle school worker is accused of inappropriately touching children.

Caldwell Police Sgt. Tony Thompson says Meagan Belnap worked as a temporary tracker at Syringa Middle School. Trackers are hired to take care of special needs students by following them around to class, read to them and make sure everything is going OK.

But police say not everything was OK when Belnap allegedly inappropriately touched one child and engaged in inappropriate conduct with three others. It apparently happened last school year.

The school resource officer heard rumors from students at the school about the incidents. After an investigation, officials turned over their findings to prosecutors.

A grand jury indicted her on four counts of sexual abuse of a child.
