Questions surface in Fort Hood Massacre

BOISE - Members of the military and families of soldiers expressed relief today in Boise after the names of those injured and killed in the Ft. Hood Massacre Thursday.
"I 'm so thankful, my heart goes out to the families of the victims but I'm so happy my son's alive, " says Lynn Ciavarella. Members of the Idaho National Guard also expressed support for the families of the vicitms. "This is going to have ramifications nationwide, touching families in every state. Right now our heart and everybody in the Idaho National Guard and Idaho Air Guard's heart is with those families," says Col. Robert Lytle. While support for the victims is evident, questions about how a scenario like this could play out one of the nation's largest military bases continue to surface. A massive federal investigation has been launched into the alleged gunman, Major Nidal Malik Hasan. The FBI hopes to determine whether Hasan displayed warning signs before the shooting spree. As of Friday, hospital officials say of the 30 wounded, not all are expected to survive. The alleged gunman remains in a coma after being shot four times. |
