Capital, Eagle advance to 5A state semis
By Troy Oppie
BOISE - A year ago, the Capital Eagles were shutout of the scoreboard and the playoffs by Mountain View, 3-0. Not so in 2009 - Capital rolled to an easy 38-13 victory over the Mavericks to advance to the 5A State football semi-finals.
The Treasure Valley will also be represented by Eagle High for the second-straight year. The Mustangs beat Rocky Mountain for the second time this season to advance in the state playoffs. Capital will host defending champion Highland on Thursday at Bronco Stadium in Boise. Kickoff is at 7 p.m. Eagle must travel to face Coeur D'Alene. The top seed from districts one and two beat Lake City to advance to the semifinals. Eagle-CDA is Friday at 8 p.m. MST. Photo Courtesy: Steve Conner Photography. |
