Payette shocks Fruitland, other small school results
By Troy Oppie
Payette came from behind in the second half on the Grizzlies home field to take a stunning 26-21 victory home on Friday night.
Payette football reached the 3A playoffs for the first time in school history in 2008, with a key, one-point win over Weiser. The Pirates could do nothing to stop Fruitland, though - and a 54-7 2008 thumping seemed fresh in Payette's memory in 2009. Payette is now tied with the Grizz in second place in the 3A SRV conference, but would own the head-to-head tiebreaker. Undefeated Weiser, which was idle Friday, remains atop the standings. Elsewhere: Homedale and mcCall-Donnelly were tied at 7 in the first half, sorry no final score reported yet. Declo 29, Glenns Ferry 7 Parma 18, New Plymouth 7 - Panthers scored twice on fumble recoveries in the end zone. Nampa Christian 38, Melba 21 Council 44, Horseshoe Bend 6 - HSB had only 9 players in uniform. Salmon River 50, Garden Valley 0 Notus 54, Tri-Valley6 |
